Right now we are working on new music and performances in Uganda and internationally with an important message - and that message is LGBT pride and strength across borders. Behind the scenes in Uganda as we prepare for filming the music video to Rainbow Riots new song! Check out our new costume designs! 🤩🌈The costumes feature African print textiles, especially Kitenge, a vibrant fabric widely recognized across East Africa. The reason we chose Kitenge is because it is cultural and political statement, asserting that we as LGBT people exist in Africa. We are not ”un-African” as some people claim. Through our costumes we show pride in our African heritage while challenging discriminatory norms that marginalize LGBTQ+ people in Uganda and beyond.🌈🌈💕🌈With funding from Svenska institutet ... 🎉So exciting! We are creating fantastic new music that we will be sharing with you soon! 💕🌈As LGBTIQ Ugandans, some people want to erase our identities, but we celebrate our pride and find happiness in dancing and singing together, using our voices to speak up.✊Music, dance, creation, and poetry are vital tools that allow us to narrate our stories and and advocate for equality. 🏳️‍🌈🌈💕With funding from Svenska institutet ...
